What affects your monthly price
The packages are a starting point. Here is what can move your price, so there are no surprises.
Your first visit
If your tank hasn't been cleaned in a while, the first visit takes a lot longer. A once-off first-visit fee may apply. We tell you the amount before we start.
Where you are
We service all areas of Cape Town. Each area has its own visit day of the week, so there is no travel fee. We confirm your visit day when you book.
The type of tank
Planted tanks, discus and large cichlid tanks need more time and more treatments, so they cost more than a standard community tank.
How often we visit
Most tanks need one visit a month. Busy, heavily stocked tanks may need a visit every two weeks. Ask us and we will price it for you.
Food and chemicals
Standard fish food and water treatments are included. Medicines and special foods are extra, and we always ask before using them.
Paying and your agreement
You pay monthly, upfront, by card or debit order. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices. We agree the notice period and any yearly price review with you when you sign up. If you won't be home on visit day, let us know beforehand and we will move your visit.
Your fish
Fish are living animals and can get sick for reasons outside anyone's control. We check every fish on every visit and tell you straight away if something looks wrong.
Extras
Holiday feeding visits while you are away, new equipment, and soon our own-brand food and treatments. Ask us for a quote.

Pricing, plainly

Is the food really included?
Yes. We leave a month's supply of our own fish food at each visit. You don't need to buy food separately.
Which chemicals are included?
Water conditioner and the standard treatments your tank needs to stay healthy. If your fish need a specific medicine, we will tell you before using it.
Is there a contract?
It's a monthly service. Speak to us about the notice period when you sign up.
What isn't included?
New fish, new equipment (heaters, pumps, lights) and repairs. We will always quote first.
How does the R350 DIY guide work?
You pay once and get the 12-step guide, three private videos and a personal code. Use the code to book a phone or video call with us within 30 days. The guide and videos stay yours; only the call expires after 30 days.
What if my tank sits between two sizes?
Choose the closer package. We will confirm on the first visit and only change the price if we agree together.
